Last year I posted some reasons why I have stopped participating in juried exhibits. But there is one thing I have done the past three years to get a little publicity and also to help a local museum, the Crocker art museum: I participate in the BSNA.
Art Auction, a Sacramento tradition, captivates thousands of bidders each year. Showcasing creations from both established and emerging artists, this annual event offers two dynamic virtual auctions—the Silent Auction and BNSA- Big Names, Small Art 2025.
There is a Preview Party for in-person exploration of all the artworks up for bidding. This year, it will happen on Thursday, May 21,  from 5:30 to 8:00 pm, at the Crocker Museum grounds. Many participant artists will be present and will be glad to talk about their art.
Through Art Auction, artists rally support for the exceptional exhibitions and enriching programs of the Crocker, making a meaningful impact on countless children, families, and adults who benefit from the Museum’s offerings. If you want to learn more about the event, how to bid and how to attend the party, click on this link.
My offering for BNSA 2026
This year I donated a metal of “Mushroom Love”. The image is 12X8″ and is printed on glossy metal, with black backing and wire hanger. The print, beautifully executed by Finer Works, looks absolutely stunning. Since this print is entering the auction, it has become a limited edition of 25 at this size and medium.

If you are in the area, come by the preview party and whether you are in the area or not, consider acquiring one of the hundreds of stunning small art works to support the Crocker Museum or Art.
