BNSA- Big Names, Small Art 2024, at the Crocker

Last year I posted some reasons why I have stopped participating in juried exhibits. But there is one thing I have done the past three years to get a little publicity and also to help a local museum, the Crocker art museum: I participate in the BSNA.

Art Auction, a Sacramento tradition, captivates thousands of bidders each year. Showcasing creations from both established and emerging artists, this annual event offers two dynamic virtual auctions—the Silent Auction and BNSA- Big Names, Small Art 2024.

There is a Preview Party for in-person exploration of all the artworks up for bidding. This year, it will happen on Thursday, May 16,  from 5:30 to 8:00 pm, at the Crocker Museum grounds. Many participant artists will be present and will be glad to talk about their art.

Through Art Auction, artists rally support for the exceptional exhibitions and enriching programs of the Crocker, making a meaningful impact on countless children, families, and adults who benefit from the Museum’s offerings. If you want to learn more about the event, how to bid and how to attend the party, click on this link.

My offering for BNSA 2024

This year I donated a canvas print of “Foxtail Agave , 2022”, part of my “Foxtail Agave” series, which can be viewed in my portfolio. The image is 12X8″ and is printed on Silverada Metallic Canvas, with black backing and wire hanger. The print, beautifully executed by Finer Works, looks absolutely stunning. Since this print is entering the auction, it has become a limited edition of 25 at this size and medium.

If you are in the area, come by the preview party and whether you are in the area or not, consider acquiring one of the hundreds of stunning small art works to support the Crocker Museum or Art.

My offering for BNSA 2023

Last year I offered a 12″X8″ metal print of Naked Aspens in the Yosemite Fog.

The auction is fortunate to have gotten your donated print. May it sell for a good price.

Yes I remember your post about juried exhibits and really appreciated it. I’ve been in a couple in my earlier days of art quilting but I’ve ended up wasting money applying for others I never got juried into. Finally I stopped subscribing to CaFE the call for entry website notification of calls, besides I am taking a break from art quilting and just focusing on traditional quilting and making practical things right now.
The BNSA sounds awesome! What a wonderful print you donated!

It is frustrating to waste money and not get accepted, the lack of feedback means we learn nothing from the experience. Practical can also be artistic.
