If I am not mistaken it’s Acasia pods, but I may be wrong. I love them and the fact that you have them on the back background. Well done.
My entry for today. https://esmesalon.com/behind-bars/
This is gorgeous. It does have the appearance of hammered copper that’s aged; it’s beautiful against the dark background. It reminds me of our mesquite beans, which are in the same family as acacia.
Really great lighting once again. Was this natural light or did you shape the light onto it in some way?

I used a flash.

Lacking scale, this could pass for a modern abstract sculpture.

The pod is about them length of my forearm. Not sure about the name of the tree, but a common ornamental in our city parks.

I see that people have made sculptures based on pods:

Did you photograph the same pods from different angles?

I did! I took many photos. In black and white it didn’t work out very well.

Were you as pleased with any of the other color photographs of these pods as you are with this one?

No. They were ok but only this one had something more interesting to show.

That you, Howard. I used artificial light, a strobe and a diffuser.

Thank you. These bean pods are massive and you’re right, they resemble mesquite beans.
